1. Who we are

LifeTask provides AI-guided self-development and educational tools. In this policy, “LifeTask,” “we,” and “us” refer to the LifeTask service and the team that operates it. For privacy questions or requests, contact dragos@trylifetask.com.

2. Information we handle

The information we handle depends on how you use LifeTask. It may include:

  • Account and identity information, such as your user ID, email address, display name, authentication provider, and account session data. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, those providers share information according to your choices and their policies.
  • Reflection and learning information, such as your age range, goals, priorities, onboarding answers, course topics, free-text responses, feedback, lesson progress, listening position, and generated plans, profiles, insights, or course content.
  • Purchase and access information, such as product, store, entitlement, subscription, renewal, and transaction or customer identifiers. Apple, Google, or Stripe processes the full payment details; LifeTask receives the information needed to grant and support access.
  • Technical, usage, and support information, such as app-scoped playback or subscription identifiers, device platform, app version, feature events, timestamps, crash-related records, privacy-minimized reliability diagnostics, AI operation status, token usage, latency, categorized errors, and messages you send to support.
  • Preferences and device-local data, such as reminder and notification settings, authentication sessions, onboarding drafts, and downloaded course audio or artwork.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, personalize, and synchronize LifeTask, including reflections, learning sessions, course generation, text-to-speech, progress, and reminders.
  • Create automated summaries, patterns, strengths, skills, and other personalized educational or self-reflection content.
  • Authenticate accounts, restore purchases, verify entitlements, process account deletion, and provide customer support.
  • Protect LifeTask from abuse and fraud, diagnose failures, measure reliability, and improve features and safety.
  • Comply with legal, accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing LifeTask, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. AI-assisted features

LifeTask sends the information needed for a requested AI feature—such as relevant prompts, responses, course topics, and personalization context—to service providers that generate text or audio. These systems process information automatically and their outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate.

Before LifeTask sends this information to OpenAI or Inworld, the app asks for your AI data-sharing permission. You can withdraw that permission in Account at any time. New AI processing and unfinished generation will pause, while content already generated remains available.

Please avoid submitting highly sensitive information that is not necessary for your use of LifeTask. LifeTask stores technical AI records such as status, provider, model, input hashes, usage, latency, and categorized errors. The privacy-minimized operational diagnostic event store does not retain prompts, generated content, course topics, transcripts, URLs, raw exception messages, or stack traces.

5. Providers and other disclosures

We disclose information only as needed to operate LifeTask, complete a transaction, protect the service, or comply with law. Current provider categories include:

  • Supabase for authentication, databases, storage, and server functions.
  • OpenAI for AI-assisted personalization and content generation, and Inworld for text-to-speech generation. LifeTask does not record or send your voice to Inworld.
  • RevenueCat for offerings, entitlements, purchase restoration, and subscription status.
  • Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe for authentication or purchases when you choose their services.
  • Resend for service emails, and Expo/EAS and other infrastructure providers for app delivery and hosting.
  • Professional advisers, authorities, or a successor to the service when reasonably necessary for legal, security, or business-transfer purposes.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and the app does not use third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking SDKs. Our providers may process information in other countries under their applicable safeguards and terms.

6. Retention and account deletion

We keep information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide LifeTask, maintain security and continuity, resolve disputes, and meet legal, billing, or accounting obligations. Retention varies by the type of information and the provider involved.

Privacy-minimized operational diagnostic events are kept for up to 30 days and then automatically deleted. They are deleted earlier when the associated account is deleted.

You can request deletion from Account settings. An actively renewing paid subscription must be canceled first, because deleting LifeTask does not cancel billing managed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. After the subscription status updates, you can retry deletion.

Deletion removes most account content, including the main profile, reflections, learning data, and generated-course records. We may retain limited hashed identifiers, sanitized billing references, quota records, and deletion metadata for fraud prevention, subscription recovery, support, disputes, and legal obligations. Providers may retain transaction or legal records under their own requirements. Backups are removed on their normal rotation schedule.

Downloaded or cached content may remain on a device until you remove it, the operating system clears it, or the app is uninstalled.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access controls and encrypted network connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password and protect access to your devices and accounts.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Use the controls in LifeTask or email dragos@trylifetask.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

You can control notifications in LifeTask and your device settings. You can also revoke Apple or Google account access through those providers, although doing so does not automatically delete your LifeTask account.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In Romania, this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).

9. Children and teenagers

LifeTask is not intended for children under 13. If local law requires an older age to consent to an online service, a parent or legal guardian must authorize use until that age. Minors should use LifeTask only with a parent or guardian’s permission and should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as LifeTask changes. We will post the updated date here and provide additional notice when required. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to dragos@trylifetask.com.
